Give My Regards to Broadway!
By creating their own musical theatre production, students explore playwriting, singing, composition, and various dance and theatre techniques. Students will choose a theme and/or storyline (or something from the curriculum as suggested by the teacher), learn how to develop interesting characters and place them in compelling scenes and scenarios. The students will understand the chores involved in producing a musical (actors, singers, musicians, assistants, stage, props, costumes, sound, etc.) as well as the different phases of its production (creation, reading, workshop, full staging). In the final phase, students will refine, rehearse, and eventually perform their master creation!
