Lisa Dove

Lisa Dove is an actor, director and composer living with her family in Brooklyn. As a teaching artist, she’s worked with the Met Opera Guild’s “Creating Original Opera” and “Sing Speak Play” programs since 2000, and joined the staff at MNMP in 2007. She has a strong background in Dalcroze, and has led the early childhood music programs of PS 58 and Linden Tree Preschool; she is currently on the faculty of the Lucy Moses School in NYC. A graduate from Juilliard’s Drama Division, she worked for many years as a professional actor, before settling down as a mom. She was the co-founder of Juggernaut Theatre Co., and has been the stage director for Northern Light Opera Company since 2002. As a composer, her musical compositions and soundscapes have been heard at HERE Arts Center, Juilliard, Soho Rep & Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, and she was a composer in the New Dramatists’ Composer/Librettist Studio in 2007. Lisa has been the recipient of grants from the Fox Foundation, The Field, NYSCA, and Meet The Composer.
